The purpose of the Youth Action Plan is to identify opportunities for young people on the Gove Peninsula and surrounding homelands and ensure that place-based activities and services to support young people are meeting their needs and giving them the best chance to grow up strong and to make their aspirations a reality.

The Youth Action Plan was developed with the guidance of a Steering Group made up of experts involved in youth services provision on the Gove Peninsula and in nearby homelands. The voices of young people and the broader community have also played a central role in shaping this Plan.

The Traditional Owners’ Vision for the Gove Peninsula provides a strong foundation for this Youth Action Plan; one that is inclusive and recognises the central role that young people must play in shaping and leading the future of the Gove Peninsula.
